Yong-guk is a secondary character in Train to Busan. He is protrayed by Choi Woo-sik.
History[]
Yong-guk goes to Busan with his baseball team. It seems that he doesn't appreciate Jin-hee, a cheerleader.
When the infection propagates onboard, only he, Jin-hee, and the two unnamed baseball players on the team survive the zombies.
Later, at Daejeon station, the army assigned to protect the population is revealed infected and attacks the passengers. Two of Yong-guk’s baseball players die and he is separated from Jin-hee. He then joins Seok-woo and Sang-hwa. In order to find their loved ones, the small group confronts the infected passengers, but Yong-guk finds his baseball team and he refuses to fight them.
Their fight is a success and these characters try to join the car where Jin-hee and the rest of the passengers are. These ones locked the door to not let them in, but Yong-guk manages to break it with his baseball bat.
Unfortunately, Sang-hwa and In-gil, an old woman, sacrified themselves to give enough time for the others to go in the car. In addition, the passengers of the car reject them still thinking that they are infected and order them to go to the vestibule front. Jin-hee joins Yong-guk and the passengers are all killed by zombies when Jong-gil, In-gil's sister, opened the car door.
It is then that the conductor announces that he will change of train because of the blocking of the lane on which he is. Yong-guk and the others then go out, but he and Jin-hee are separated from them because of a car collision. Thinking dead, the two teenagers continue on their way to join the new train. They go in a wagon, he and Jin-hee tried to open the door to go to the other side, but it won't open, so Yong-guk decides to break the window to cross. However, Jin-hee is grabbed and thrown into a zombie by Yong-suk. Yong-guk fights the zombie off of Jin-hee, however she is infected. Yong-guk stays and cries until she turns and kills him. It is unknown what happened to him next, but it is assumed that he reanimated as a zombie.
