Plot[]

A zombie apocalypse has occured in South Korea 4 years later. Marine Captain Jung-Seok is driving his elder sister, his nephew Dong-Hwan, and his brother-in-law Chul-min to a ship to escape a zombie outbreak in South Korea. When they are on the way, he encounters a family with a young child, but he ignores the family's pleas for help because Jung-Seok thinks that the father looks like he might be infected and he keeps driving. A news reporter states that Busan is no longer a refuge for survivors because the city was bombarded by a crashing plane which introduced infected to the center of Busan leaving the peninsula unsafe as a whole. In the cabin of the ship, Jung-Seok's sister thinks that they soon will arrive in Japan however Jung-Seok knows that the ship will be redirected into Hong Kong for unknown reasons. Shortly, Dong-Hwan sees an infected man turn into a zombie which alerts everyone inside and infects numerous people, including himself. Jung-Seok's sister refuses to leave her son with an infected tummy despite Dong-Hwan being infected, so Jung-Seok is forced to block everyone, including Chul-min, from accessing the cabin causing all infected attacking her. The Reporter tells the story of the infected people in the ship and says south Koreans will not be granted refugee status in surrounding countries.

Four years later in Hong Kong, Mobsters fiight guilt-ridden Jung-Seounyil until one of the mobsters tells Jung-Seounyil that their boss is looking for him. Then, he and Chul-min sign up for a mission from the mob's leader to return to the quarantined Korean peninsula to retrieve an abandoned truck which contains $20 million dollars of American currency stuffed into bags. Jung-Seok and Chul-min arrive with a team at night and find the truck after some searching. However, they discover that the truck's driver is a zombie and accidentally honk the horn which alerted a horde of zombies. They escape with the truck as zombies began chasing them.

On the way back to Incheon Port, they are ambushed by a rogue militia which are formerly known as Unit 631, led by Sergeant Hwang. Jung-Seok is thrown out of the truck, and witnesses multiple people being killed, Chul-min hides inside the truck. Jung-Seok is rescued by two sisters: Joon and her younger sister Yu-Jin. Joon drives to a hideout where the children live with their mother Min-Jung and grandfather Elder Kim. Jung-Seok realizes that Min-Jung & Yu-jin were members of the family he did not save 4 years prior.

Meanwhile, the Unit 631 soldiers take the truck to their compound which was formerly a shopping mall and imprison Chul-min upon discovering him in the back, forcing him to take part in a series of timed survival games between prisoners and the infected. Private Kim and Captain Seo discover the cash and satellite phone in the truck and secretly hatch a plan to escape the peninsula with the truck, keeping their plans a secret from Sergeant Hwang and the rest. Meanwhile, Min-Jung learns from Jung-Seok that there is a ship at Incheon Port waiting to extract him and the truck. She decides to steal the truck from the compound so that the five of them (her family and Jung-Seok) can escape.

The following evening, near Unit 631's compound, as Joon, Yu-jin, and Elder Kim wait in the car, Jung-seok and Min-jung sneak inside, where they discover the truck and encounter Private Kim. While holding Private Kim at gunpoint, Jung-seok learns that Chul-min is alive in the compound and goes to rescue him. He almost succeeds, but Chul-min is killed by Hwang while saving Jung-seok from being shot. Jung-Seok is saved by Min-jung, and the two quickly escape the compound with the truck. Numerous Unit 631 soldiers, led by Hwang, give chase; Seo shoots Private Kim dead and pursues the group separately. In the ensuing chase, Jung-Seok deliberately shoots and shatters a glass tunnel with full of zombies which he see in previous night, freeing the horde inside, which causes the horde overwhelm Hwang's vehicle.

The five reach Incheon Port when Seo rams his vehicle into Joon's car, then holds her at gunpoint as he become maniacally happy. Yu-jin manages to distract Seo enough to allow Joon to escape, but he shoots Elder Kim as the latter tries to protect Yu-jin. Min-jung promptly attempts to shoot Seo, but is shot in the leg. Seo flees with the truck and arrives in the cargo hold of the ship. After arriving inside the ship, Hong Kong mobster's shoot seo as they never had any intention of honoring the deal. As he bleeds to death, Seo reverses the truck to prevent the cargo hold's gate from closing, which causes the zombies outside to enter inside the ship and kill everyone.

After Elder Kim dies, the remaining four spot a United Nations Chinook helicopter flown by Indonesian UN troops and draw its attention. An injured Min-jung requests that Jung-seok bring Joon and Yu-jin to the helicopter, while she clears the path of zombies. Min-jung then traps herself in a truck and presses on the horn repeatedly, intending to attract the zombies to her so that the three others can escape. Recalling a time when Chul-min said that Jung-seok did not try hard enough to save their family four years ago, Jung-seok rescues Min-jung by dispatching some of the zombies that have trapped her in the truck. She quickly makes the run to the helicopter, while Jung-seok covers for her by shooting the zombie horde. The four then board the helicopter and escape the peninsula.

Trivia[]

  • Some references of Seoul Station & Train to Busan were mentioned in this film :
    • A Zombie Outbreak in South Korea was caused by leak of South Korea Biologic Plant.
    • Busan was considered the safest place during the South Korean Outbreak in Train to Busan. Damn, Busan has failed and become infected.
    • The plane during the reporter's story about the outbreak in South Korea was named Korean Air in the part where it crashed into Busan when several passengers including the pilot got infected while escaping the outbreak to Singapore.
    • The fund manager man known as "Seok-woo" is likely at Busan's train tracks as a zombie but from now his body is now a rotten body zombie. His face is most likely unrecognisable at this movie. (as a appearance of what he looks like now). But he remains a mystery of what he is now.
