The conductor is a supporting character in Train to Busan.
He is protrayed by Jeong Seok-yong.
History[]
He is in charge of driving the characters to Busan and seems at first, to not understand what is happening on the train.
The conductor is first seen reading papers in his cabin. At the start of the infection, one of the attendants informed him of acts of violence by the passengers. He is then called by Yong-suk, a selfish businessman who demands that he stop at Daejeon station, what he does.
On the spot, the conductor chats with Ki-chul, the last steward, and observes in shock the infected passengers. He then meets Yong-suk who offers him to go to Busan, that is not yet contaminated, without the cars but the conductor tells him that it is impossible. He decides to bring back all the passengers who have left to take them to Busan. However, everyone is running back to the train when the army supposed to protect them is in fact infected.
Ki-chul tells him he can start and the conductor calls for help from the referral station. A new direct route is then drawn for the train to Busan and the station will inform the conductor later.
Later, the conductor calls the station again but the communication does not go through. Then, the train approaches East Daegu station but the conductor stops it because of a blockage by containers on the rails. He announces to the last passengers that he will change trains to continue the journey to Busan and wishes them good luck. He then finds a locomotive near the station which he starts on another track.
While contemplating the disaster, he notices Yong-suk running to the locomotive and the conductor yells him to hurry. That's when Yong-suk twists his ankle, forcing the conductor to come out to help him get up. However, Yong-suk throws him on the zombies and infect the conductor who vainly calls for help.
